Oatmeal porridge with egg

Oats is know to be a superfood, but the problem with having just oats as a meal is that it has close to no protein. It's mostly carbs. Thats why I like to add milk, in addition to an egg, to get som extra protein in. These extra ingredients also makes this meal taste so much better!

Nutrition facts per serving

Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 200 g lactose free milk – 0,5% fat (you can use normal milk if you want to)
  • 40 g big oats (you can use small oats, but big oats is better for your digestive system)
  • Some salt

Method

  1. Put the oats, the milk and the salt in a pot. Cook it for about five minutes, or however long it takes for the porridge to thicken.
  2. Whip the egg a bit and mix it into the porridge. Cook for another minute or two.
  3. Serve the porridge on a flat plate (or whatever plate you want to).
  4. Put on som garnish. I prefer sugar, cinnamon and margarine (this is not included in the macros). Cottage cheese is also a good topping choice.
