Me and my boyfriend decided to go on a roadtrip to Lofoten, north in norway, and to the viking festival that they have there every year. We had never been there before, and was very excited. We started to drive tuesday the 4th august. It was a 8 hour long drive from our home to Bodø. We slept there for one night, and the next we took the ferry over to Moskenes (3 hours). Finally we drove another 1,5 hours to get to Leknes in Lofoten where we had booked a cabin.
We didn’t know anyone when we arrived, and wasn’t part of any viking group. All we really planned to do was just look at the marked, and then maybe find some people to talk to. But both me and my boyfriend is very shy, and that kinda makes it hard to start talking to strangers without feeling kinda stupid. But suddenly we found a group of vikings that was atually from our home area: “Egge vikinglag (Egge viking group)”. They was extremely nice to us, and it wasn’t hard to talk to them at all. It didn’t take long for us to decide that we wanted to join them. Without those amazing people, the fesival would not have been the same. They made this trip into an adventure thats truly unforgettable.
