The decision
For a long time, I’ve been feeling kinda stressed by the fact that I had to go early to the gym to avoid the rush hours. It was fine on the days when I didn’t have meetings at work, but it was never a consistent and guaranteed thing. If that happened I had to either just go to the gym during the rush and waste a long time just waiting on machines/racks to get available. Or I had to go very late. I thought about transferring to another gym, but then I took a very rush decision and bought myself a small home gym!
Since I’m living on the second floor, I had to be careful not to order too many weights. I also took measures before the equipment arrived to protect the floor with rubber mats. Luckily I do not drop weights on the floor either (like you would in a Deadlift). The gym turned out very nice and cozy in the end, and I’m very proud of it! I do have a squat/pull-up rack, a barbell with weights, a bench – and some dumbells (that I have had for a long time).
Twitch streaming
To challenge me even further, I decided to try to stream my workouts – since my PC is in the same room as my gym anyway. I was of course very nervous before my first stream. I was scared people would be rude to me and say things about my body and how I was doing my exercises. But everything turned out to be better than expected! The Fitness and Health community on twitch seems very welcoming so far. I’ve had a few comments on certain things. Some that have helped me, other comments have confused me. Regardless, It’s a good way to challenge myself in standing my ground on the stuff I know I’m doing right, and maybe improving on stuff that I might not be doing optimally. Cause that is pretty much my goal: To keep improving myself. To keep going forward and get stronger, both mentally and physically.
